Creative Beginnings
in
Machine Embroidery
by Patty Albin
This book is an
excellent resource for new embroiderers. It gives a great overview of what
supplies are needed and tips on many things like scissors, needles,
stabilizers and how to use many of those things.
For example, how to carefully tear away stabilizers, how
often to change needles and how to properly wind bobbins. Patty includes
many photographs and detailed instructions written in plain, simple English. It
is 63 pages so it isn’t overwhelming but gives the basics of machine embroidery
so you can understand "how it works and what you can do with it".
Patty says in
her Getting Started section
on page 4 of this book:
“In between, each chapter has basic information you need to know about
machine embroidery. You’ll also find helpful tips (Patty’s Pointers), to do
lists to prepare you for embroidery, and exercises to learn specific skills. By
the end of the book, you’ll be familiar with your embroidery machine and the
materials used for machine embroidery.”
