Organ Needle Logo

Organ Needle was established in 1920 and has spent years perfecting their technology to manufacture high quality needles. They have worked closely with machine manufacturers to produce the best product for different manufacturers.  Since Organ's philosophy is that a machine is only as good as the needle in it, needles must be changed often to enhance the performance of the machine.

HLx5 Flat Shank for Home Quilting or Sewing Machines
The HLx5 flat shank needle is designed for quilting or sewing machines.  This needle is made for sewing heavy, thick or multiple layers of material.  It will sew through multiple ply applications like quilting, jeans, applique or heavy embroidery.  It is actually an industrial needle with a flat shank.  If you are bending or breaking 15x1's, this needle could solve your problem.   These hard chrome needles will outlast a standard 15x1.  Available in retular point.

ELx705 Flat Shank Serger and Cover Stitching Needles

e.g. for sergers that do cover stitches.  This needle has a slightly longer scarf, a light ball point and 2 grooves.

15x1BP-SP Flat Shank Ball Point for Stretch or Elastic Fabrics.  Also called HAx1 SP.  This needle will work on any home serger that uses a flat shank needle.  This is a special version of the 15x1 for stretch or elastic materials and tightly woven knits.  It is made to higher standards, it has a snake's head shape due to a combination of a slightly bulged eye and a slightly reduced blade above the eye.  The bulged eye opens a slightly larger space in the material and the thinner blade above the eye reduces contact between the material and the needle.  This reduces needle heat-up and prevents skip stitches.  The slight ball point separates the fibers rather than cutting them, avoiding needle holes in the fabric.

#90/14BP
- medium-heavy stretch fabrics
- Item #1742

HAx130 EBBR Flat Shank Needle
This needle was developed for use in the Babylock EMB6 and Brother PR-600C machines.  It is an industrial quality needle with a flat shank, reinforced blade, light Ball Point and an oversized eye.  It has a hard chrome finish.

Organ Brand Round Shank Needles for
Industrial Embroidery Machines

DBxK5 Round Shank
This needle was designed especially for the industrial embroidery machine. This needle has a one size larger eye than found in a 16x257 needle.  A larger needle eye, without increased blade diameter lets embroidery thread pass through the needle's eye without fraying or snapping.  Available in both regular point and ball point (BP).

#75/11 - Item #538
#80/12 - Item #539
#70/10BP - Item #895
#75/11BP - Item #533
#80/12BP - Item #907

DB-K5-SS Round Shank for embroidery on leather
The DB-K5-SS needle has all the eye features of the DBxK5, but the point has a very narrow wedge to make penetration through leather, vinyl and similar materials easier and neater.  The very narrow wedge point "slices" through the leather-like materials while making a cleanly cut needle hole.
#75/11-SS
(for leather) - Item #151

NEW! DBxK5-Z1 Round Shank for embroidery machines.
Also
fits Janome MB-4 & Melco EP-4
This is a modified version of the DBxK5 needle.  It has a side scarf, long extended groove, longer deeper scarf and slim Xtra Light Ballpoint.  The side scarf allows less interference between the needle and the rotary hook.  The long extended groove provides more protection to the top thread.  The longer deeper scarf allows the hook point to be adjusted closer to the center of the thread loop and allows for variations in registration from one needle position to the next.  The slim point reduces penetration resistance for smoother piercing of the material.  This all adds up to smoother, sharper embroidery.

Organ Needles for industrial machines
Needle Tips:
Did you know that changing the needle size or needle eye size will also affect:
- the tension of the top thread
- the relationship of the needle from the scarf to the hook point of the needle
- how the needle penetrates the fabric.

Changing your needle to another size may alleviate some of the problems
you may encounter when embroidering, quilting or sewing.
A needle should be changed every 100,000 stitches for machine embroidery and about 8 hours of straight stitching.
